This hive top feeder is made in New Zealand of food grade plastics. It holds 2.5 gallons of syrup so you don’t have to get into the colony as much to feed. Bees access the syrup through a pass-through in the center and four entrances in the corners. The entrances are textured to allow bees to grip easily as they go up and down the sides. The design prevents bees from entering the main chamber where syrup is kept, preventing bees from drowning. This also means that when you go to fill it, bees will not be in the space so you can feed without disturbing the colony.
Requires a wood frame to use. If you have purchased a shim or vented shim from us for winter feeding, this does fit that wood shim.
